Coin cleaning is usually done with an Ultrasonic cleaner. These devices use sound waves to clean the coins. In ultrasonic liquid, the sound intensity increases, creating a negative pressure. This negative pressure breaks the liquid creating tens of thousands of tiny water vapor bubbles. When these water vapor bubbles then enter a sound wave they begin to vibrate. The vibrations cause the water vapor bubbles to grow until they become unstable and implode. These implosions cause small but strong currents in the ultrasonic fluid. Since there are not a few, but tens of thousands of implosions at once, a powerful reaction is created that we call ultrasonic cleaning. These devices are also used to give certain items a gentle and hygienic cleaning.

You can do this in two ways: indirect or direct cleaning. Direct cleaning is placing the item directly into the cleaning bath and it is important to change the liquid after each cleaning session. Indirect cleaning uses a glass beaker and a fine mesh basket. By using a glass cup, you can clean multiple materials at the same time and loose dirt will not stay in your ultrasonic cleaner. Note: After cleaning, rinse the items with warm water. This will prevent the cleaning fluid from staying in.

The frequency of vibration and sound is indicated in Hertz, also sometimes abbreviated as Hz. The frequencies generally used for ultrasonic cleaning are so between 20 kHz and 50 kHz. A frequency of 20 kHz creates relatively large air bubbles and ensures fast and powerful cleaning. An kHz of 40 creates small bubbles that provide intensive cleaning.
